Account security settings (MFA) Student
The settings section offers an essential security feature — Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) — to help safeguard your account and enhance your overall security.
About Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
MFA adds an extra layer of protection beyond just a password, requiring an additional verification step to significantly reduce the risk of unauthorized access. Enabling MFA is a simple step that greatly strengthens your account's security.
Enable MFA
- Log in to DrillBit as a user.
- Navigate to the Settings section on the left sidebar of the application.
- In the Multi-Factor Authentication section, you will see the option to enable MFA.
- Toggle the switch to enable MFA.
- A pop-up window will appear asking, “Are you sure you want to activate Multi-Factor Authentication?” Select Yes to confirm.
Login Process with MFA
After MFA is enabled, you'll first enter your password when logging in. Following successful password entry, an OTP will be sent from DrillBit to your registered email address. Enter this OTP on the login page to complete the authentication process.
Disabling MFA: Toggle the switch off in the same settings section. A confirmation pop-up will appear with the message, “Are you sure you want to deactivate Multi-Factor Authentication?” Select Yes to confirm and deactivate MFA.
Trouble with OTPs? Ensure your registered email address is correct to avoid issues with receiving OTPs. After 3 consecutive incorrect attempts to enter the OTP, you'll need to log in again and request a new OTP.
Can't find the email? Check your inbox, spam, and junk folders. If you still can't find it, reach out to DrillBit support via email.
