Announcements Consortium Admin
Announcements
An announcement is a short message you broadcast from the consortium to the admin account of every institution under it. It is the one place where you can say something to all of your institutions at once, rather than emailing each coordinator separately.
The announcement icon sits in the top bar, immediately to the left of your name and profile arrow.
Writing one
- Click the announcement icon in the top bar.
- Click the round + button in the bottom right corner of the page.
- Fill in Enter Title — this is what shows in the list.
- Fill in Enter announcement — the message itself.
- Click Submit.
Both fields are marked required. Leave either one empty and the form will not submit.
The list
Announcements you have already sent are listed under My Announcements, with the count beside the heading, newest first and grouped under the date they were sent. Each entry shows the title, the account that sent it, the date, and the message body. Longer histories are paginated.
Use Search by Announcement title at the top right of the list to find an older one.
Who sees it
Announcements go to the admin of each institution in the consortium — not to the individual users inside those institutions. If the message needs to reach teaching staff or students, the institution's own admin has to pass it on.
They also only reach institutions that already exist when you send. An institution created afterwards does not receive earlier announcements, so anything you want a new institution to know is better sent again once it is set up.
