Getting started Consortium Admin
Getting Started
A consortium is one licence that covers several institutions. You hold the licence; each institution under it gets its own DrillBit account, its own admin, and its own submission allowance.
What that means day to day is that you do not check documents yourself. You create institutions, give them their allocation, and watch how it is used. The actual submitting happens inside each institution.
The five menu items
- Dashboard — totals for the whole consortium: institutions, users, submissions, plus processing times split by English, Non-English and Regional. Guide →
- Pro — where institutions are created and every licence is listed. Named after your product; a classroom-management consortium sees Extreme here instead. Guide →
- Reports — submission or folder activity, one institution at a time. Guide →
- Search — look up one paper ID and download its similarity report. Guide →
- Support — raise a ticket when something needs DrillBit. Guide →
Two more things live behind your name at the top right: Account info, and the announcement icon for broadcasting a message to every institution’s admin.
A sensible order to work in
- Sign in and confirm the word under your name reads Consortium.
- Check Account info — the consortium’s expiry date, and the institution and submission totals.
- Create your institutions, one at a time or in bulk.
- Leave the admins to add their own users, and check in through the licences table.
What you cannot do
- Edit your own consortium details. Account info is read-only. Changes go through Support.
- Sign in as an institution. Their admins have separate accounts. Switch roles instead.
- Delete an institution. The licences table edits and drills in; it does not remove.
- Recall an announcement. Once sent, it stays sent.
